Overview

Each Contrast CVE Shield tier has a limit on how many users, applications, and services you can actively monitor. This guide breaks down what those limits are on each tier, and what counts against them.

Prerequisites

  1. A CVE Shield account with an agent installed.

  2. A Java application you can connect.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Know CVE Shield Free limits

  • 1 user

  • Up to 2 applications

  • A maximum of 12 services combined across those 2 applications

Hosts are unlimited on every tier, including the CVE Shield Free tier.

Know the difference between a service and a host

A host is a running instance of your application, for example a JVM process, a container, or an executable jar.

Expected Outcome

You know your tier's user, application, and service limits, and you know hosts don't count against any tier's cap.
