Contrast CVE Shield has a free tier to get started, and paid tiers when you need more users, apps, history, or active blocking. This guide breaks down what's included at each level so you know what you have and what upgrading actually changes.

Prerequisites

1. A CVE Shield account with an agent installed.

2. A Java application you can connect.

3. Know which tier your account is on: CVE Shield Free, Pro Starter, Pro Team, Enterprise Trial, or Enterprise.

Step-by-Step Instructions

CVE Shield Free: What you get by signing up

• 1 user and up to 2 applications, with a maximum of 12 services combined. Hosts are unlimited at every tier.

• Real-time attack detection against known CVEs, in Monitor mode only. Blocking and Protecting isn't included on this tier.

• 14 days of rolling attack history.

• Real-time CVE attack visibility, available through Explorer's CVE Table, the Issues list, and Observations.

• Community support through the Gather Community Forum.

No credit card is required, and trying Contrast for free has no time limit. You can stay on CVE Shield Free indefinitely.

Note: Support for the Free plan is provided through a community forum. Company personnel may monitor the forum and respond from time to time, but this is done on a voluntary, best-effort basis. Contrast does not guarantee a response time, resolution, or that any question will receive a reply. No service level agreement (SLA) applies to the Free plan.

Enterprise: Dedicated support and the full feature set

A dedicated Account Manager, 24/7 coverage for P1 issues with a 2-hour response target, phone and video support, and quarterly business reviews, on top of the full ADR platform.

Expected Outcome
