Q: How long does CVE Shield keep my attack history?
A: 14 days on Free Entry. Paid tiers extend this window; check with support for exact retention on your plan.
Q: How many apps and services can I connect on the free tier?
A: Up to 2 applications and 12 services combined, for 1 user. Hosts are unlimited at every tier, including Free Entry.
See: Understanding Capacity Limits
Q: Where do I get help if I'm on the free tier?
A: Post in the Gather Community Forum. Free Entry doesn't include a private ticket queue, support is community-driven.
Q: Where's the audit log for account or configuration changes?
A: CVE Shield Free doesn't capture audit log data. This isn't a permissions or visibility issue; audit events simply aren't recorded for Free-tier organizations. Audit log capture and retention is available on paid tiers.
Q: I keep getting automated emails about my CVE Shield Free account. Are they legitimate? [Accounts & Tiers]
A: Yes. CVE Shield Free sends a welcome email at signup, getting-started emails if you haven't installed the agent or seen CVE data yet, a weekly digest when there's been activity, and a series of inactivity check-ins if your account goes quiet, ending in automatic deactivation after 90 days. None of this means something's wrong with your setup. Using the product, or deleting your account, are the two ways to change what you receive.
Q: What counts as an "application" for plan limits?
A: Plans are described in applications and metered in services. A service is an independently deployable runtime component handling one business capability (e.g. billing, shipping); a typical application is made up of several services. Free covers about 2 applications, up to 12 services.
See: Understanding Capacity Limits
Q: Can I change plans as my needs grow?
A: Yes. You can start on Free and upgrade when a paid tier becomes available to you, and coverage for new applications takes effect once the agent is reporting.
